Happy Friday,

I'm writing this from Lisbon, so today's newsletter will be short. I'm here for the Foxwell Founders event, where I am giving a talk on building a system to generate AI ads using Claude code, proper markdown files, agents, the whole thing.

If that sounds interesting (and you're not currently jealous of my Portuguese weather), I'm also speaking at the Motion Bootcamp on April 7th for one of their Foundations calls. If you haven't signed up, you can do so HERE. Would love to see you there.

But first, the important stuff.

Maddie was out in Vail last weekend (ask her how the snow was), so James, Linus, and I had a guys' weekend. My mom came in with her boyfriend to help, which was nice because Saturday was one of those New York City days where the sun comes out and the entire city collectively decides life is worth living again. We walked around the park and racked up 22,000 steps.

James is obsessed with the swings right now. You can push him for hours. That might be an exaggeration, but it's only barely one.

We hit Mariscos El Submarino on Saturday night, which just opened in Park Slope, and holy shit, that tuna toast is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten (there is a food renaissance happening here). It's such a great spot. Caveat: they do not have high chairs, so James sat on my lap and ate cheese quesadillas like a total champ.

On Sunday, James and I went on a man date for dinner. He got the broccoli risotto. I got pasta with vodka sauce and peas. So my 13-month-old is officially eating better than I am.

Now I'm in Lisbon. It's gorgeous. I fly back tomorrow morning, and I cannot wait to see Maddie, James, and Linus. I miss them a lot.

The broader James’ update for those keeping score: he is very close to walking. He's standing in the crib every morning, shuffling back and forth, just grinning at us. He's the happiest kid. I know every parent says that, but I just had to get that out there.

Maddie and I were joking that he sort of peaked at 6 to 8 months (the cute phase was unreal), he went through some dark days, and now he's back. Also, everyone keeps telling us he needs a haircut. He's got this really long flow going. As mentioned earlier, the flow is fantastic, and we will not be cutting it until he is at least 18.

Okay, that's the life update. Now, in lieu of an actual written newsletter this week, I wanted to share something I built for you instead. It's called Ad Library (I know, really creative) from Skipper (adlib.getskipper.ai), it's totally free (for my newsletter peeps), and I walked through the whole thing in this Loom. Fair warning: you will be looking at my face in direct Lisbon sunlight for about 5 minutes.

I'm sorry, and you're welcome.

Also, major shoutout to Dara Denney, who helped me determine the core static formats out there.

P.S. if you are in Claude Code and want an API for this, hmu. I just ask for a beer in return!

Talk soon,

Will
